Job description
Performs duties to draft, analyze and evaluate project specifications along with the related functionality and workflow for company computer systems. Performs computer system testing (performance, functionality, and compatibility), table set-up, verification of test results and completes detailed documentation to assure quality products are implemented. Supports user base and programming staff to ensure successful operation of systems and conformance to requirements., The following duties cover what are generally believed to be the principal and essential functions of the job. Specific circumstances may allow or require some people assigned to the job to perform a somewhat different combination of duties.
- Analyze, understand, and evaluate documentation to determine if all required specifications are well defined and precise.
- Completes checklist on projects if available, create if applicable.
- Communicate with management, end-users, team members for clarification, additional or necessary information.
- Develops documentation on communications which may change or revise specifications.
- Documents discrepancies found or reported on the functionality of the system.
- Provide written documentation on new functionality, enhancements and/or procedural changes caused by code changes.
- Responsible for documentation on all assigned tasks.
- Document, update and maintain Issues list and BA's project files.
- Responsible for table set-up and maintenance efforts.
- Apply testing skills to ensure quality assurance on table changes, new code, modified code, or enhancements so the changes meet the specified requirements.
- Follows project plans, as they are developed, to completion in a timely and efficient manner, consistent with departmental objectives.
- Ensure all assignments are documented, tracked, and monitored correctly.
- Communicate assignments/project(s) status on a regular basis. Inform managers, users and others as needed on status of open issues and planned resolutions to those issues. Offer ideas and/or solutions to make systems, procedures, workflows more productive and efficient.
- Perform various other duties as assigned
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software documentation?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or twelve months related experience and/or training in insurance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Word and Excel is highly recommended.
- Experience with insurance or SQL language preferred., * Oral and written communication skills for contact with Managers, users, agents, and technical staff.
- Ability to analyze and understand requirement specifications for functionality, performance, workflow, and programming needs.
- Test, resolve issues, compile, and maintain detail documentation for issues, solutions, and results.
- Work on multiple assignments at once in a timely and efficient manner to meet scheduled completion requirements.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Support co-workers to meet departmental objectives. Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience with insurance or SQL language preferred.
Mental Requirements:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form. Reasoning; dealing with problems involving a few variables in standard situations.
