Job description

The Director of the Health System Integration serves as the enterprise leader responsible for the strategic design, governance, and execution of system-wide integrations, acquisitions, and transformational initiatives aligned with WVUHS strategic growth priorities. This role provides end-to-end oversight across due diligence, pre-close planning, Day 1 readiness, stabilization, and long-term optimization for all functions across the Health System. The Director establishes and leads integration governance, embeds enterprise change-management frameworks, standardizes acquisition methodologies, and ensures financial, operational, clinical, and cultural alignment across multiple business units and locations. This position serves as the system authority for integration strategy, risk escalation, executive-level reporting, and cross-functional performance accountability., 1. Lead the Integration Management Office (IMO) by designing and managing integration governance, decision-making processes, and escalation pathways.

  1. Oversee the full lifecycle of hospital and ambulatory acquisitions, including due diligence coordination, pre-close planning, operational readiness, Day 1 execution, stabilization, and optimization.

  2. Integrate enterprise change-management practices into integration governance, project planning, and executive reporting structures.

  3. Provide executive-level visibility into integration risks and proactively escalate financial, operational, regulatory, or timeline impacts to senior leadership.

  4. Standardize ambulatory practice acquisition workflows, including recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, and operational integration processes.

  5. Establish integration performance metrics and dashboards and manage the reporting cadence for Steering Committees and System Leadership.

  6. Mentor and develop project managers and cross-functional workstream leads and maintain the enterprise Project Management Playbook and standardized integration tools.

  7. Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on integration priorities, sequencing, resourcing, and system growth planning.

  8. Coordinate and align cross-functional teams across HR, IT, Finance, Operations, Quality, Clinical, Compliance, and Physician Enterprise to ensure unified execution.

  9. Drive alignment of integration activities with WVUHS strategic objectives and support long-term system sustainability through consistent practices and intentional governance.

  10. Conduct post-integration evaluations, lessons-learned reviews, and continuous-improvement initiatives to strengthen integration maturity over time.

  11. Conduct integration readiness assessments across clinical, operational, financial, and technology domains to identify gaps, risks, and priority actions prior to go-live.

  12. Develop and manage structured stakeholder engagement and communication plans to ensure alignment, transparency, and clarity across executive sponsors, hospital leadership, and frontline teams.

  13. Develop and maintain a standardized systemwide integration methodology to ensure scalable, repeatable, and consistent execution across all integration efforts.

  14. Serve as the primary integration liaison for incoming partner leadership, building trust, resolving concerns, and ensuring alignment with WVUHS expectations.

  15. Partner with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities and support the design of standardized workflows that enhance long-term system performance.

  16. Facilitate engagement sessions with stakeholders to build alignment around improved processes and support a culture of operational excellence.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Senior leadership?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Eight (8) years of leadership experience in healthcare operations, enterprise integration, program management, or system-level transformation initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

  1. Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related field).

  2. Certifications preferred: PMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Change Management certification.

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Experience leading enterprise ambulatory practice acquisition redesign initiatives.

  2. Demonstrated experience designing enterprise governance models, integration frameworks, and scalable operating infrastructure.

  3. Familiarity with EPIC, Workday, or other EMR or enterprise application implementations., 1. Ability to lift, push, or pull 15 pounds.
