Job description

The Senior Scrum Master is a high-impact leadership role responsible for elevating Agile delivery performance across multiple teams and the broader organization. This position serves as a strategic coach, facilitator, and organizational change leader, guiding one to three Scrum teams while also shaping enterprise-level Agile practices. The Senior Scrum Master applies advanced expertise in Agile frameworks, coaching, facilitation, and metrics to improve delivery outcomes, strengthen team maturity, and drive alignment between technology execution and business strategy. This role is accountable for ensuring teams consistently deliver business value through disciplined use of Scrum, transparent metrics, and continuous improvement. The Senior Scrum Master also mentors other Agile practitioners, influences leaders without authority, and leads organizational Agile initiatives that directly impact delivery predictability, culture, and operational efficiency. The scope, complexity, and cross-functional influence of this role requires an experienced practitioner capable of navigating ambiguity, resolving escalated issues, and driving measurable improvements across teams and departments., Role Accountability & Leadership

  • Support one to two high complexity Scrum teams while also contributing to enterprise Agile maturity.
  • Demonstrate advanced mastery of core Scrum Master competencies and apply them across multiple teams and contexts.
  • Mentor and develop other Agile practitioners, contributing to a strong internal Agile community of practice.
  • Leads organizational Agile improvements that enhance delivery performance, predictability, and team engagement.

Agile Practices & Framework Expertise

  • Coach teams using multiple Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Scrum@Scale, Nexus, etc.) and select the right approach for the situation.
  • Introduce new frameworks, tools, and metrics to improve organizational outcomes.
  • Mentor others on Agile frameworks, scaling practices, and data driven decision making.

Facilitation Excellence

  • Facilitate high stakes meetings and cross team sessions with clarity, neutrality, and strong outcome orientation.
  • Navigate conflict constructively and help teams build psychological safety.
  • Coach others across the organization to elevate facilitation capability and consistency.

Coaching & Organizational Influence

  • Apply coaching skills across teams, departments, and leadership levels to improve performance and alignment.
  • Help maintain and evolve the team maturity model, using results to guide coaching strategies.
  • Drive adoption of Agile principles beyond Scrum teams, influencing culture and organizational behavior.

Organizational Agile Leadership

  • Lead development, reporting, and interpretation of organizational Agile metrics that inform strategic decisions.
  • Communicate and promote Agile initiatives across the enterprise, ensuring alignment and adoption.
  • Mentor others on how to support teams through Agile transformation and continuous improvement.

Personal Development & Thought Leadership

  • Continually deepens expertise in Agile frameworks, coaching, facilitation, and organizational change.
  • Develop other Agile practitioners and contribute to the long term growth of the Agile discipline within the organization.
  • Expand capability to coach multiple teams simultaneously, including in complex or escalated situations.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Professional Scrum Master I certification?, Do you have experience in Transitioning development teams to Agile?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Advanced proficiency in Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework, with the ability to apply them in complex, multi team environments

  • Demonstrated expertise in multiple Agile disciplines (SAFe, Scrum@Scale, Nexus, etc.)
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and lead teams through organizational change
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills across group and individual settings
  • Skilled in using data and metrics to drive performance improvements
  • Ability to influence without authority and build strong relationships across teams and leadership
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring teams and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to resolve conflict, navigate escalations, and maintain team health
  • Leadership capability to mentor other Scrum Masters and support enterprise Agile transformation

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum: 4 Year / Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred: Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Certified Scrum Master (CSM I), or similar advanced Scrum Master certification required.

Years of Experience:

  • A minimum of six years of experience in a Scrum Master role with significant experience serving as a Scrum Master in complex, multi-team environments required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience applying flow metrics, JIRA, and experience working within a product organization required.
  • Demonstrated use of other Agile techniques such Lean, Kanban, etc
