Job description
Join our Tax Technology and Transformation team as an Engineering Senior Manager, where you will be part of a technology organization that develops and maintains innovative solutions for our client-serving Tax professionals. - Serve as the technical decision point, providing guidance and supporting troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Plan, sequence, and prioritize teamwork; identify dependencies early and keep teams focused on goals
- Set weekly/sprint goals, drive demos, and prepare demo scope and dry runs
- Break down work into achievable increments, tracking milestones and risks to maintain predictable delivery
- Uphold and apply engineering principles consistently, guiding team decision-making and ensuring high-quality delivery
- Lead practical adoption of agentic SDLC with clear human-in-the-loop quality, testing, and security guardrails
- Drive excellence across the full development lifecycle: design, coding, testing, release, operations, and continuous improvement
- Track and report key metrics, including updates to Atlassian Compass, ensuring transparency into progress and performance
- Organize and oversee live iteration demos, ensuring they are conducted from cloud environments and not skipped
- Own InfoSec responsibilities by maintaining an up-to-date issue list, addressing findings early, and adhering to remediation timelines
- Lead implementation of strategic initiatives aligned to organizational goals
- Ensure technical documentation is accurate, up to standard, and treated as a required deliverable with clear expectations
Requirements
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams and delivering complex technical projects
- Strong proficiency in Python for backend development, with experience maintaining and evolving existing .NET/C# services
- Strong frontend experience with Next.js, Web Components, and Module Federation; experience migrating from Angular and legacy microfrontend approaches is highly valuable
- Extensive experience with cloud-native applications on Azure (AWS and GCP experience is also acceptable)
- Hands-on experience with containerized workloads and orchestration
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Bicep, Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK
- Full-stack development experience with a focus on modern frameworks (React is acceptable)
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with agentic SDLC in production delivery workflows
- Proven ownership of the development loop (build, test, release, operate, and iterate)
- In-depth knowledge of test automation (unit, integration, e2e)
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and make significant technical contributions
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- A passion for technology and continuous learning, with personal projects or interests outside of regular work
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor's degree required (4-year degree) Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Economics and/or a master's degree in Accounting, Tax Technology, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science or related field; master's degree preferred.
