Job description

What will you do?

Assists IT Director in managing the day-to-day activities of the organization's technology services, business systems, and operational support needs; assists with the implementation and enforcement of IT standards, policies and/or procedures; assists with ensuring business requirements, workflows, documentation, and operational needs are sufficiently analyzed, documented, communicated, and validated prior to implementation; lends expertise to internal teams; supports and solicits input from team members at all levels with the organization.

Acts as back-up liaison with the Franklin County Data Center; assists with user account administration, access controls, permission review, and operational security practices in coordination with the IT Director and Franklin County Data Center; assists with establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors; serves as a back-up to the IT Director.

Effectively communicates relevant IT-related information to stakeholders.

Administers the Franklin County Auditor's Office business applications; performs software application testing; attends software training and demonstrations; troubleshoots as necessary; coordinates software support, testing, implementation, and issues resolution activities; coordinates reporting and data related requirements with Business Analysts, developers, stakeholders, and the IT Director to improve clarity, validation, and consistency.

Responsible for project and program management and oversight.

Manages and supervises staff and external contractors (e.g., schedules and assigns tasks; interviews job applicants; recommends the hiring of job applicants; recommends discipline; evaluates performance; receives employee complaints; approves and recommends the approval of leave requests; attends or participates in meetings in which policy questions are reviewed or discussed, etc.); provides training, mentorship, guidance, and operational support to Business Analysts and the IT Support Specialist to promote consistent processes, technical proficiency, and professional development.

Tracks operational issues, project updates, support activities, and departmental metrics and provides regular status reporting to the IT Director and senior leadership; develops and enforces request handling and escalation policies and procedures.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Vendor relationship building?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, We encourage individuals with possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or relevant discipline, and a minimum of three (3) years' experience in Information Technology; one (1) year of project leadership experience and one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred; ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and manage time to ensure deadlines are met; experience with technology planning and implementation; technical planning and project management experience; demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills; excellent communication and customer service skills.

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum Master, and/or any modern IT-related certification preferred.
