Job description

Data Engineer - AI / ML - Business Intelligence Reporting - government client - 3 months + (inside IR35)

Are you a Data Engineer looking for an opportunity to shape both current Business Intelligence delivery and next-generation data and AI solutions for the UK government?

As Data Engineer you will Develop and optimise AWS data pipelines and BI solutions that underpin a modern data platform and emerging AI initiatives. You'll split your time between supporting existing reporting and analytics and building out new data platform and AI-driven capabilities.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS data engineering services such as Glue, S3, Lambda, Redshift or Athena.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data modelling, transformation and analytics.
  • Python experience for data processing and pipeline development.
  • Background in data warehousing, analytics or data platform development within BI environments.
  • Clear, practical exposure to AI/ML, for example cloud AI services (e.g. AWS Bedrock) AI-enabled data products, generative AI concepts or ML pipelines.
  • Experience delivering AWS-based data solutions, ideally in complex or regulated settings.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure and delivery tooling such as Terraform, APIs or CI/CD.
