Join Parkdean Resorts as a SQL Developer and play a key role in powering the data behind unforgettable holiday experiences. Sitting at the heart of our Technology team, you'll design, build, and optimise database solutions that support business-critical systems, reporting, and decision-making across the organisation. With a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server, you'll also support legacy applications, drive automation through PowerShell scripting, and contribute to modernising our data landscape. Working collaboratively with Engineering, Product, Data, and Delivery teams, you'll ensure our data solutions are secure, scalable, and high performing. What you will be doing...
Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, including schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions Write efficient, secure, and well-documented T-SQL to support applications and reporting Optimise performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and refactoring legacy SQL Ensure data integrity, availability, and consistency across all environments Support incident response and triage when needed Maintain and enhance legacy web applications with a focus on database performance Diagnose and resolve data-related issues in collaboration with developers and support teams Support incremental modernisation of legacy systems Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administration, monitoring, and deployments Build and support .NET components supporting integration with third-party applications Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release processes using Azure DevOps Work closely with Engineers, Product Owners, and Delivery Leads to deliver solutions aligned to sprint goals Ensure database solutions align with architecture, security, and governance standards
Requirements
Proven experience as a SQL Developer or in a similar role Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL (including performance tuning) Experience developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts Working knowledge of .NET Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
