Job description
Establish the Finance MDG operating model, including governance, approvals, SLAs, controls, quality gates, and escalation procedures.
Design and refine ServiceNow-based request intake processes for Finance master data.
Develop templates, SOPs, work instructions, approval matrices, governance controls, and quality check procedures.
Govern Finance Master Data Objects including:
- GL Accounts
- Cost Centers
- Profit Centers
- Internal Orders
- Projects/WBS
- Hierarchies
- Mappings
- Reference Tables
Train and mentor Corporate MDG teams and BPO partners (WNS / Capgemini).
Support cutover planning, go-live readiness, hypercare, stabilization, issue triage, and transition to steady-state operations.
Establish data quality monitoring, governance reporting, and continuous improvement processes.
Requirements
This is a critical role focused on Finance Master Data Governance and Finance process expertise. Candidates must have deep hands-on SAP Finance and Controlling master data experience and a proven track record supporting large-scale S/4HANA transformation programs., 20+ years of SAP Finance experience preferred. Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA and ECC-to-S/4HANA transformation programs. Deep understanding of Finance Master Data Governance. Experience leading or building Finance MDG organizations in complex enterprise environments. Strong knowledge of Record-to-Report (R2R), FP&A, Statutory Reporting, Management Reporting, Controls, and Tax implications. Experience working without SAP Native MDG and leveraging ServiceNow or similar workflow tools. Ability to create practical governance frameworks, SOPs, training materials, and operational procedures. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
S/4HANA Go-Live, Cutover, Hypercare & Stabilization experience. Experience working with offshore/BPO execution teams. SOX / ICFR controls exposure. Knowledge of validation/substitution logic, chart of accounts governance, intercompany setups, cost allocation defaults, and financial statement version maintenance.
