In the Platform Engineering Portfolio Manager role, you will work in a DevOps/platform environment and manage a team of platform engineers. We are at the forefront of aerospace and defense technology. Our Satellite Ground Systems Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring communication, surveillance, and defense capabilities through cutting-edge satellite systems. What You Will Do
- Be responsible for staff performance, performance reviews, flow down, timecard approvals, one on one discussions, merit planning, promotion planning, retention, performance development, training, staff rotation, hiring, succession planning.
- Ensure software performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Work with platform technologies and staff to get projects to a successful outcome.
- Work with cross functional/discipline teams
- Work in an Agile/DevOps environment., * Provide program engineering support to NBI campaigns and discipline initiatives as needed
- Support program execution through platform related metrics, EPR, ROMB, IIR oversight
- Basic Software development background/knowledge
Requirements
- Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Ability to collaborate with cross discipline stakeholders to promote platform engineering best practices and strategy across portfolio.
- Ability to consult product owners to capture platform engineering work scope and translate to vertical value, ensuring technical debt and foundational work are prioritized alongside feature delivery.
- Experienced leadership of entry level to experienced platform engineers.
- Knowledge of (and ability to apply) Platform technologies - Puppet, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jenkins, AWS.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
