Job description

We are looking for a Google Cloud Platform Data Platform Developer with strong experience in Data Pipeline Migration (SQL Server to Google Cloud Platform) and strong hands-on experience in PowerShell.

We are seeking a Google Cloud Data Platform Developer to design, enable, and modernize enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud Platform. The role involves working across data platform setup, pipeline migration, and data mart development, ensuring adherence to enterprise architecture, governance, and best practices.

  1. Google Cloud Platform Data Platform Enablement
  • Support setup of the US Data Insights data platform on Google Cloud Platform in accordance with EDAA-approved architecture and standards.
  • Assist with configuration of core Google Cloud Platform data services used for ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics.
  • Follow EDAA guidance (where applicable) for:
  • Environment structure (e.g., development, test, production patterns)
  • Naming conventions and resource organization
  • Security, access, and governance requirements.
  1. Data Pipeline Migration (SQL Server to Google Cloud Platform)
  • Assess existing Power Shell and SQL Server-based data processes supporting US Data Insights reporting and analytics.
  • Design and implement Google Cloud Platform-native pipelines to replace legacy data processing jobs.
  • Translate and refactor existing Power Shell and SQL logic into scalable Google Cloud Platform solutions while preserving business logic.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of migrated outputs.
  1. Google Cloud Platform Data Mart Development
  • Design and build curated data marts in Google Cloud Platform to support US Data Insights analytics and reporting needs.
  • Apply EDAA-approved data modeling and layer conventions.
  • Partner with Data Insights stakeholders to translate business requirements into performant, well-documented data models.
  • Optimize tables and structures for downstream BI and analytics consumption.
  1. Standards, Documentation, and Handoff

  • Adhere to all applicable EDAA standards related to data architecture, modeling, security, and governance.

  • Produce technical documentation covering:

  • Data pipelines and data flows

  • Data mart structures and transformation logic

  • Support knowledge transfer to US Data Insights team to enable ongoing ownership post-engagement.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience developing data solutions on Google Cloud Platform
  • Strong Power Shell and SQL skills and experience with cloud-based data transformations
  • Proven experience migrating data pipelines from SQL Server or legacy platforms to cloud environments
  • Experience working within enterprise data architecture and governance standards
