Job description
The Junior Full Stack Developer supports the ongoing hosting, maintenance, and development of online platforms supporting the Military-Civilian Transition Office (MCTO). Working under the direction of senior software developers and the Program Manager, this position contributes to both front-end and back-end development efforts within AWS and Azure environment, adhering to DoW cybersecurity standards, STIG requirements, and Agile/Scrum delivery practices., Develop, test, and maintain web application features across front-end and back-end layers
- Contribute to change management iteration cycles in coordination with the Program Manager
- Perform code reviews and participate in peer review processes to maintain coding standards
- Assist with documentation of software components, configuration updates, and system change requests
- Adhere to DoW Application Security and Development (ASD) STIG requirements and OWASP secure coding practices
- Support testing activities including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Requirements
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated proficiency with JavaScript and at least one modern framework (React, Vue.js, Angular, or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
- Familiarity with version control using Git/GitHub, Azure DevOps, JIRA, including branching strategies and pull request workflows
- Demonstrated ability to apply software design principles including SOLID principles and established design patterns, * Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a closely related technical discipline
- 0-2 years of professional or academic full-stack development experience
- Experience with server-side development using Node.js, Django, or a comparable framework
- Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker
- Experience or coursework in Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Must obtain and maintain a Tier 3 (T3) background investigation in accordance with DoWI 5200.02
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a DoW Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must complete all mandatory training within 30 calendar days of reporting for duty, including CUI, OPSEC, Privacy Act/PII, IT Security Awareness, and Insider Threat Awareness training
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with TypeScript for type-safe JavaScript development
- Familiarity with Python for scripting or back-end development
- Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly AWS services
- Experience working within CI/CD pipeline environments
- Prior participation in sponsored or client-facing academic projects emulating real-world engineering workflows
- Demonstrated ability to refactor and improve legacy codebases

The annual salary for this position is $70,000.
