Job description
The Mapping Coordinator II will support the accurate maintenance of electric distribution system records. This role involves researching facility data, interpreting technical drawings, updating GIS systems, and ensuring quality control of field information. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of GIS experience or relevant coursework and will work on-site in Providence, Rhode Island., * Research facility records and/or distribution system field conditions, and interpret and communicate facility information to internal and external customers via radio, phone, in person, or written communication.
- Gather changes in the distribution system through correspondence with field crews or field visits and process tabular changes.
- Perform quality reviews of facility information prepared by field personnel and assist in inputting new information into GIS systems.
- Input administrative activity information into requisite spreadsheets, databases, or scanned record systems.
- Copy, print, plot, and fax facility work and administrative activity information as directed.
- Update and maintain facility, work, and activity information.
- Gather field information to resolve discrepancies in existing records.
- Maintain filing and record-keeping as directed.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in GIS or related engineering fields, or a GIS certificate.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, MS Office, and Google Maps.
- Ability to analyze and interpret electric distribution system information and technical drawings.
- Strong ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of electric networks, both overhead and underground.
- 1-2 years of GIS experience or relevant coursework.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.

Pay Range: $30 - 35/hr. W2
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
