Software Engineer II, Backend (Merchant Advocacy)

• Design and expand the platform to accommodate hundreds of thousands of merchants
• Collaborate with teams to ensure alignment on cross-team projects
• Work with Engineering Manager and Team Lead to drive the team's long-term vision
• Implement technical strategies for complex, wide-reaching challenges
• Utilize development tools like Claude Code to enhance automation
• Enhance engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the organization

• 3+ years as a backend software engineer
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and distributed systems
• Experience with API design, data models, and event-driven architecture
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in backend systems development using AWS, gRPC, Kotlin, Python, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• Experience with monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., sentry.io, kibana)
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
