Job description
This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office., · Stay current on developments in AI coding tools and agentic workflows; bring new ideas back to the organization and drive them to implementation
· Author and maintain shared AI configuration artifacts: org and team-specific personas, and prompt libraries.
· Design and deploy AI personas for targeted use cases - for example, a security reviewer persona that critically evaluates PRs for vulnerabilities, or a test coverage persona that identifies gaps
· Build and evaluate AI-assisted code review agents and workflows; measure their effectiveness and iterate
· Prototype AI-powered tooling in Python or similar - automation scripts, GitHub Actions integrations, or custom agents
· Partner with engineering leads and individual contributors across multiple teams to drive adoption and behavior change
· Present findings, proposals, and results to engineering leadership; create clear, compelling documentation and slide decks
· Act as tech lead for a small team that delivers value quickly
Requirements
· 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong coding skills
· Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) in a real engineering context
· Experience in acting as the technical lead for small fast moving/high impact teams
· Demonstrated ability to drive change in a technical organization - through documentation, tooling, or direct influence
· Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to sell your ideas
· Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity; able to jump between teams and projects without close supervision
· Experience with LLM evaluation techniques or AI model benchmarking
· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
· Curiosity and willingness to experiment, learn, explore, and sometimes fail.
Nice-to-Have
· Experience writing technical documentation, READMEs, runbooks, or similar artifacts
· Experience in building a community of practice or working with Open Source communities, BS in CS, CE, or equivalent practical experience.

- United States of America: Annual Salary USD 160,000 - 303,000 in Colorado // 152,000 - 349,000 in Texas The listed salary range reflects base salary. Variable incentives may also be offered."
