Job description
The Institute of Bioanalytics at Coburg University is seeking to fill a temporary position for the project "Immersivized Gam3R - Framework for immersive gamification approaches in relation to 3R principles for planetary health." The Gam3R project involves the analysis of ecotoxicological datasets and the development of interpretable AI models, agent-based models, and QSAR models for digital twins in the 3R context. The goal is to create a digital twin and simulate its behaviour in a 2D/3D environment for the analysis of in silico experiments on Daphnia magna. This will involve the use of various analytical tools, as well as their visualization and processing., # Implementation of AI models using PyTorch, TensorFlow 2, or R alternatives
Application and creation of R and Python scripts for analysis and statistical evaluation
Subproject management and coordination of project partners
Presentation and creation of reports, digital twins, and data
Requirements
A master's degree in bioinformatics, computer science, engineering physics, mathematics, or data science is required
Experience working with AI models and digital twins is desirable
Excellent programming skills in R and Python
Experience in statistical analysis
Basic knowledge of environmental toxicology and bioassays
Knowledge of machine learning methods
Experience with Linux operating systems
Strong interest in application-oriented problems and hypothesis-driven research
High level of commitment, teamwork skills, and strong communication skills
Initial experience in organizing and co-managing projects
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German is a plus

The employment contract with the Free State of Bavaria is for a 65% position (25.5 hours per week) and is limited in duration until September 30, 2027. The position is classified in pay grade 13 of the TV-L collective bargaining agreement. There is the possibility of a 21-month extension following a successful evaluation.
