Job description
As an IT Technician, you'll be diagnosing and fixing a wide range of hardware and software issues while supporting customers with advice, upgrades, and purchases.
You'll work with both individual and business customers, helping deliver efficient repairs and excellent service. This role combines technical skill with customer interaction, so strong communication is key., Technical Support & Repairs
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across a range of devices
- Install and configure operating systems (Windows and macOS)
- Troubleshoot system errors, software faults, and connectivity problems
- Carry out repairs, upgrades, and general maintenance on IT equipment
Customer Service & Sales
- Communicate clearly with customers about faults, repair processes, and solutions
- Deliver a high standard of customer service in-store and during technical interactions
- Provide advice and guidance on products, upgrades, and services
- Support sales of devices, accessories, and consumables
Workshop & Team Support
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workshop environment
- Ensure all work meets quality and service standards
- Collaborate with team members to meet service targets and customer expectations
Requirements
Do you have experience in macOS?, We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about IT and enjoys hands-on problem-solving
- Reliable, professional, and customer-focused
- Confident working independently as well as part of a small team
- Comfortable communicating with customers from all backgrounds
- Eager to learn and develop technical skills
Customer service experience is helpful but not essential - attitude and willingness to learn are key.
Desirable Technical Knowledge
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365
- Experience installing or configuring operating systems
- Understanding of basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting
- Knowledge of file systems and data handling (e.g. NTFS, FAT32)
- Awareness of data security, antivirus software, and safe computing practices
- Basic understanding of network or cloud security concepts
Additional Advantageous Skills
- Experience building or upgrading PCs
- Ability to identify and fix common hardware faults
- Confidence working with laptop repairs (e.g. replacing screens, memory, keyboards)
- Awareness of firewalls and internet security tools
