Job description
We're seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support a Windows Server upgrade programme across a hybrid estate (on-prem and Azure). This is a hands-on role focused on upgrading and modernising Windows Server environments (2012-2025), primarily within Nutanix AHV, alongside Azure IaaS and Legacy system decommissioning.
You'll work across design, delivery, and governance, supporting technical implementation from HLD/LLD through to production rollout, ensuring secure, stable, and well-documented platform transitions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivery of Windows Server upgrades and migrations
- Work across Nutanix AHV and Azure environments
- Support decommissioning of Legacy infrastructure
- Contribute to HLD/LLD design and technical governance
- Engage with Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes
- Perform validation, troubleshooting, and rollback planning
- Produce runbooks, KB articles, and handover documentation
- Collaborate with network, security, EUC, and application teams
Key skills required:
- Strong Windows Server (2012-2025) upgrade and migration experience
- Hybrid infrastructure experience (on-prem + Azure)
- Nutanix AHV exposure
- Core services: Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP
- Strong PowerShell Scripting (automation/reporting)
- Experience with patching, hardening, and server lifecycle management
- Structured delivery within change-controlled environments
