Job description
We are seeking an experienced VMware Engineer to design, implement, administer, and support enterprise virtualization infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in VMware technologies, server virtualization, storage, disaster recovery, and infrastructure automation to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of critical business systems., * Install, configure, administer, and maintain VMware vSphere environments.
- Manage ESXi hosts, clusters, virtual machines, resource pools, and virtual networking.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management activities.
- Monitor virtualization infrastructure performance, capacity, and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, storage, networking, and virtualization-related issues.
- Implement and maintain VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Collaborate with server, storage, network, and security teams on infrastructure projects.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline administration and operational tasks.
- Support backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Participate in infrastructure modernization and cloud migration projects.
- Provide on-call support for critical production environments as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with VMware infrastructure administration and engineering.
- Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter Server, and vMotion.
- Experience managing large-scale virtualized environments.
- Knowledge of VMware High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and Fault Tolerance (FT).
- Experience with storage technologies including SAN, NAS, and VMware vSAN.
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux server administration.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Knowledge of networking concepts including VLANs, DNS, TCP/IP, and load balancing.
- Experience with PowerCLI, PowerShell, or automation scripting.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
