Job description
Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Cryptography Engineer position! This is a 12 month contract and will be hybrid in Wilmington, DE. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing: Lead the design and implementation of cryptographic automation solutions, transitioning manual certificate management processes to scalable Azure-based automation frameworks Engineer and maintain enterprise encryption infrastructure across diverse endpoints including F5 devices, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), web servers, and Windows server environments Collaborate closely with technology management, senior engineers, and support teams to architect and execute technical solutions for cryptographic lifecycle management, including key generation, rotation, and retirement Develop and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, standards, and policies for encryption systems and cryptographic operations Leverage Azure Key Vaults and native Azure automation tools to build robust certificate delivery and management pipelines Mentor junior engineers and technicians on cryptographic best practices, reviewing technical documentation and proposed changes to encryption systems Coordinate vendor interactions and evaluate emerging cryptographic technologies to ensure the organization stays ahead of industry trends and regulatory requirements Partner with business stakeholders across various levels to translate security requirements into practical encryption implementations.
Requirements
4+ years of hands-on experience with encryption technologies, cryptographic automation, and certificate management systems Strong expertise in cryptographic lifecycle management, including understanding of key factors, stages, ciphers, and PKI infrastructure Proven experience with Azure cloud services, specifically Azure Key Vaults and Azure automation tooling for certificate and encryption management Solid technical knowledge of F5 devices, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and encryption implementations across web servers and Windows server environments Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured, high-quality technical implementations Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with infrastructure design technologies and data security Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field preferred
