Job description

Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. This position is also focused on Mass Properties Analyses and Integration, assessing systematic mass reduction opportunities. This role will ensure accurate mass, center of gravity (CG), moment of inertia (MOI), and related data throughout the product lifecycle, informing design decisions, performance predictions, and verification activities. Other system-level analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Requirements

Lockheed Martin is looking for a highly motivated Systems Engineer to become a member of the System Analysis Team., Experience with one or more Systems Integration functions including:

  • Generally has 3+ years of related experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

  • System Integration, Test and/or Verification

  • Test planning and execution with an understanding of all the interdependencies Desired Skills:

  • Experience with performing mass properties calculations (Weight, Center of Gravity, Moment of Inertia)

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, solid modeling applications (IDEAS, CREO or SolidWorks)

  • Experience with programming languages and software tools (MATLAB, Mathcad, VBA, Python)

  • Experience as a key contributor for weight control and reduction efforts

  • Ability to support technical concerns with respect to weight reduction application

  • Ability to write Mass Properties procedures, practices, and/or specifications

  • Experience working on integrated product team, interacting with other engineering fields, technicians, subcontractors, and customer

  • Familiarity working in production environment, specifically with crane operations

  • Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly techniques & processes

  • Prior spacecraft or aircraft testing experience preferred

  • Experience with data reduction and simple error analysis

  • Demonstrated basic understanding of systems thinking skills and behaviors

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration., Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
