Job Title: Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server / PostgreSQL / AWS)
Location: Remote (U.S.-based) (Central Hours)
Responsibilities
· Own end-to-end database architecture, performance, scalability, and reliability across cloud-hosted environments
· Independently plan, design, and manage relational database systems within AWS ecosystems
· Implement and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies
· Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis
· Develop and enhance SQL code, including stored procedures and data models aligned with business requirements
· Translate business needs into efficient, scalable database solutions
· Lead database migrations and modernization efforts (on-prem to AWS, cross-platform conversions, etc.)
· Define and execute backup, recovery, and data protection strategies across environments
· Establish observability and monitoring across databases and supporting AWS services
· Manage FinOps initiatives related to database infrastructure and backup services in AWS
· Ensure database security, compliance, and governance best practices
· Automate operational tasks using scripting and tooling
· Leverage AI-driven tools and emerging capabilities to improve optimization, monitoring, and overall productivity
Required Skills & Experience
