Job description

You will be the Project Engineer Development Ground Systems - Level 4 for the F-35 Line of Business Engineering (LOBe) team within Engineering and Technology (E&T) supporting the Ground Systems Team which is responsible for delivering cutting-edge ground system capabilities for the F-35 program.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Project Engineer Development Ground Systems - Level 4 you will be responsible for steering engineering execution, managing cost and schedule, and ensuring technical excellence across the F-35 Ground Systems portfolio.

"Your responsibilities will include:"

  • Own day-to-day engineering execution for assigned programs, ensuring performance, cost, and schedule targets are met.
  • Identify issues, risks, and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies to proactively manage technical challenges.
  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions across all Domain Excellence (DEx) teams.
  • Serve as the prime technical point of contact for complex projects, driving issues to resolution and keeping leadership informed.
  • Coordinate engineering scope across specialty teams, managing dependencies and integration risks.

You are a results-driven engineer with a proven track record of managing complex, high-visibility programs. You thrive in collaborative environments, bring strong analytical skills, and can translate technical challenges into clear, actionable plans. Your experience in cost, schedule, and technical performance management positions you to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive successful outcomes for the F-35 Ground Systems portfolio., MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN -This position is located at a facility that requiresspecial access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secretclearance., *Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Engineering or alternative Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree *Project Engineering / Project Management / Program Management and/or Technical experience *EVMS (Earned Value Management System) and/or CAM (Control Account Management) experience *Experience developing and managing project/program schedules (Microsoft Project, Open Plan, or similar) *Experience communicating with multi-disciplined engineering teams *Experience working with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) *Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance. Desired Skills: *Experience in Reprogramming Lab development lifecycles *Experience with project performance and metric tools such as Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), OpenPlan and Tableau *Experience with Risk and Opportunity management and systems such as ROADS *Experience conducting or participating in Test Planning and Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) *Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills *Excellent presentation skills. Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration., Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
