Job description

  • The Sales and Service Technology division supports client facing systems, sales support systems, and service systems. Salesforce.com is the foundation of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems used by the Sales Technology team.
  • We are seeking a highly experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a Sales, Service, and Marketing Technology team responsible for building customer-facing web applications. This role is ideal for a high-energy, collaborative individual who thrives in fast-paced environments, embraces modern testing practices, and acts as a change agent within quality engineering.
  • You will play a key role in driving automation strategy, improving CI/CD pipelines, mentoring team members, and ensuring high-quality software delivery across multiple complex initiatives., * Design, develop, and maintain advanced test automation frameworks, including AI-powered automation to improve speed, coverage, and efficiency.
  • Define and implement test practices, standards, and processes across the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Execute and oversee manual and automated testing, including test planning, test case creation, defect tracking, and release readiness assessments.
  • Serve as a technical leader and advocate for test automation at all levels (UI, APIs, middleware, web services).
  • Estimate, coordinate, and direct testing efforts for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Establish and track metrics to measure test effectiveness, efficiency, and overall product quality.
  • Build reusable automation frameworks that reduce manual effort and improve execution time.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines using a DevOps mindset and Atlassian tooling.
  • Maintain and configure test environments and test data strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to ensure appropriate test coverage, participate in code reviews, and support unit, component, and pipeline-level automation.
  • Recommend and implement automated reporting and dashboards that provide actionable insights.
  • Continuously streamline CI/CD pipelines to reduce delivery lead time.
  • Influence and educate stakeholders across engineering and leadership levels on quality best practices.
  • Lead and contribute to TDD, BDD, and ATDD practices using Gherkin-based frameworks (e.g., Cucumber).

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience developing, executing, and maintaining automated test frameworks.
  • Prior experience in a technical lead role, including mentoring, code reviews, and design guidance.
  • Strong coding skills in Java or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Experience with Selenium WebDriver.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Strong understanding of exploratory testing techniques.
  • Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr).
  • Hands-on experience with web services virtualization.
  • Experience performing code reviews and assessing test coverage.
  • Proven ability to manage testing across multiple projects, applying risk-based testing strategies.
  • Strong leadership experience within large, complex QA organizations.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD practices and Lean methodologies.
  • Experience with tools such as Bamboo and Bitbucket.
  • Experience using BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, JBehave, or SpecFlow.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving innovative testing solutions within large enterprise platforms.
  • Strong understanding of test automation ROI and tooling strategy.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities.
