Job description
As a Senior Backend Integration Engineer (C#/.NET, Salesforce), you will play a key role in shaping and modernizing our global integration landscape. You will drive the design and implementation of reliable, scalable, and maintainable backend integration solutions, with a strong focus on Salesforce, Azure, and event-driven architectures, ensuring high system quality, performance, and business alignment., * Build and evolve a modern integration layer using C#/.NET on Azure, optimized for performance, maintainability, and reliability (including simplification of legacy integration flows where needed).
-
Define and evolve API strategies (real-time, bulk, event-driven), with a strong focus on Salesforce platform integrations.
-
Analyze and simplify existing integration flows, identifying improvement opportunities and reducing system complexity.
-
Own backend integration design decisions, including API boundaries, data synchronization patterns, security, and performance considerations.
-
Ensure engineering quality and operational excellence through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and production readiness practices.
-
Design and implement robust data synchronization and consistency mechanisms (source-of-truth rules, reconciliation, idempotency, conflict handling).
-
Collaborate with stakeholders and external partners, translating technical topics into clear insights and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering practices., We know that not everyone will meet every requirement. If you are excited about the role and have relevant experience, we encourage you to apply. We also offer you...
-
Communicate in a structured, async-first way across time zones (clear writing, crisp updates, decision records).
-
Translate technical topics for non-technical stakeholders (IT, Sales Processes, Commerce).
-
Show strong judgment on when to decide independently vs. when to align/escalate.
-
Collaborate constructively with external partners with their own architecture view and commercial interests (e.g., Merkle).
-
Proactively share knowledge without being asked. Your initial focus will be deep Salesforce integration; over time, you will expand the integration capability across additional enterprise systems and domains.
-
A dynamic and friendly workplace in our Barcelona tech hub, combining startup energy with the stability of a Swiss industrial leader.
-
International collaboration with global teams, especially in Switzerland, and external integration partners. Opportunities for continuous learning and growth through the maxon academy and professional development programs.
Requirements
- You have strong hands-on Salesforce integration experience (REST and/or Apex REST, SOQL, Bulk API 2.0, and event-driven patterns such as Pub/Sub) and you design within platform limits/governor constraints.
- You are passionate about building scalable, reliable, and maintainable integration solutions in modern cloud environments.
- You think analytically and pragmatically, with the ability to rationalize complexity and drive simplification.
- You are comfortable navigating cross-functional structures and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- You communicate clearly, structure your work well, and feel comfortable working in distributed, international teams.
- You take ownership, make sound decisions, and know when to act independently or seek alignment.
- You are proactive in sharing knowledge and continuously improving engineering practices.
Benefits & conditions
- A permanent contract, competitive compensation, and flexible working hours supporting work-life balance.
