Job description
Namespace's approach is low-friction, designed for immediate integration into existing developer toolchains, empowering teams to experience tangible results within just five minutes. With an end-to-end stack optimized for high performance-including compute, memory, storage, and networking-Namespace delivers capabilities and efficiencies unmatched by traditional cloud providers.
Namespace provides high-performance, ephemeral compute environments across Linux, Windows, and macOS. Our macOS platform runs on native Apple Silicon and is designed to power demanding developer workflows like Xcode builds, iOS CI, and graphics workloads.
In this role, you'll be responsible for the core virtualization layer powering our macOS platform. You'll work across virtualization, scheduling, storage, and infrastructure to build fast, reliable, and scalable Apple Silicon environments. From VM lifecycle management and image pipelines to fleet scheduling and performance optimization, you'll help push the limits of what's possible with macOS virtualization in the cloud.
This is a high-impact role: you'll own critical platform components that enable developers to spin up isolated macOS environments in seconds and run demanding Apple ecosystem workloads at scale.
Our culture
We're looking for people with grit-people who push through ambiguity, take ownership, and keep going when things get hard. You're deeply curious, driven to understand how things work and how they can be improved. Most importantly, you have a strong bias to execution: you don't wait for perfect conditions, you ship, learn, and iterate quickly. If you care about building, moving fast, and making real impact, you'll fit right in.
What you'll do:
- Build a great macOS virtualization platform - pushing Apple's Virtualization.framework to its limits on performance, cold-start times, and density
- Own the Mac-specific layer end to end: VM lifecycle, host integration, and the storage and image pipeline for fast cloning and snapshotting
- Draw on hands-on virtualization experience (Virtualization.framework, KVM, QEMU, or similar) to solve problems that don't have documented answers
- Integrate with and extend our fleet scheduler to place an ever growing number of of VMs across the Apple Silicon fleet
