Job description
Define Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. This will be the sole role in the organization with this specialized skill set, making it ideal for a self-starter capable of working independently on ground-up projects. The successful candidate will build and maintain databases, manage data ingestion, develop ETL/ELT pipelines, and perform data analysis and reporting to support enterprise-level initiatives., * Design, build, and maintain internal databases and data warehouses from the ground up
- Develop ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate multiple data sources, including Athena EMR and NetSuite
- Clean, transform, and centralize datasets to ensure reliable reporting and analytics
- Build dashboards, visualizations, and analytical workflows to support business needs
- Perform data analysis to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities
- Work independently, taking ownership of projects from start to finish
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and data needs
Requirements
- 7-8+ years of relevant experience, ideally with healthcare data
- Proven ability to work independently without mentorship or technical oversight
- Strong ownership and confidence in decision-making for standalone projects
- Demonstrated experience building data warehouses, pipelines, and connectors
- Solid understanding of data ingestion, ETL/ELT processes, and reporting workflows, * Excel: Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs
- SQL: Writing queries from scratch
- Python: Proficiency with Pandas and other common libraries; flexibility encouraged
- JSON
- Snowflake: Preferred, but not required; willingness to learn acceptable
- Tableau or similar visualization tools
- Experience integrating data from multiple sources (EMRs, NetSuite, others), * Prior healthcare experience to reduce onboarding complexity
- Experience working with Athena EMR or similar healthcare platforms
- Knowledge of additional EMRs or financial systems for future integration
- Familiarity with nightly batch data ingestion processes
