Job description

The IT Administrator serves as the primary technology resource for all employees and is responsible for providing exceptional support across the organization's IT infrastructure, business applications, computer systems, mobile devices, networking, cybersecurity, and audio/visual technologies. This role supports a manufacturing environment and ensures technology systems remain secure, reliable, and aligned with business needs.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, technically proficient, and committed to maintaining a strong cybersecurity posture while delivering responsive support to end users.

Essential Responsibilities:

End-User Support & Technical Services

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related support requests.
  • Respond to help desk tickets, emails, phone calls, and in-person requests for technical assistance.
  • Provide timely troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, software, networking, and system issues.
  • Support and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, conference room technology, and other endpoint devices.
  • Perform break-fix support, desk-side assistance, system refreshes, hardware replacements, data migrations, and technology deployments.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain hardware and software solutions.
  • Perform onsite updates, software installations, configuration changes, and system enhancements.
  • Document technical issues, solutions, procedures, and support activities.

Systems & Network Administration

  • Maintain and troubleshoot PC hardware, operating systems, software applications, LAN/WAN connectivity, wireless networks, and voice systems.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Review system diagnostics and assess functionality, performance, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers as needed.
  • Assist with planning, implementing, and responding to system outages and technology-related incidents.
  • Evaluate hardware and software lifecycle needs and recommend upgrades or replacements.

Business Application Support

  • Provide day-to-day support for core business applications, including:
  • Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Adobe products
  • Manufacturing and business software applications
  • Assist users with application training, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Support user account administration and access management.

Cybersecurity, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Maintain a strong cybersecurity posture across all systems and devices.
  • Implement and support security policies, procedures, and technical controls.
  • Monitor security certificates, software updates, patching activities, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform user access reviews and security control validations.
  • Support risk assessments, compliance audits, facility inspections, and security documentation requirements.
  • Maintain security verification logs and documentation.
  • Educate employees on cybersecurity awareness and safe computing practices.
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate potential security incidents.

Technology Planning & Asset Management

  • Maintain inventory of hardware, software licenses, and technology assets.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting for technology purchases and replacements.
  • Track technology lifecycle management and warranty information.
  • Recommend cost-effective solutions that improve operational efficiency and system reliability.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Regulatory compliance evaluation?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • 2+ years of experience supporting computer systems, networks, and end users in a business environment.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and endpoint devices.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, access management, and IT compliance controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with network administration, firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, and endpoint security tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and device management platforms.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or similar certifications.
