Job description

The Data and Analytics Engineer is responsible for centralized reporting, data modeling, and foundational data governance across the organization. This role supports operational decision-making by owning enterprise reporting, enhancing Power BI capabilities, and contributing to improving how data is structured, governed, and shared.

What You'll Do

Reporting and Analytics

  • Build, maintain, and enhance enterprise reports and dashboards using Power BI, including proficiency in DAX and Power Query.
  • Work with SQL-based systems and enterprise reporting environments including Microsoft SQL Server, SSMS, and SSRS.
  • Apply row-level security and data access controls within reporting and dashboarding platforms.
  • Design and maintain reports that are accurate, consistent, and accessible to non-technical business users.

Data and Systems

  • Apply strong understanding of relational databases, data schemas, and reporting structures to support business needs.
  • Support ETL concepts and data pipeline work using tools such as SSIS or Azure Data Factory.
  • Document data flows, report logic, semantic models, and integration patterns clearly and consistently.

Data Quality and Governance

  • Apply data validation and quality assurance practices to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity.
  • Support data governance initiatives including data ownership, definitions, usage standards, and access controls.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Gather reporting and data requirements from non-technical business stakeholders and translate them into accurate, actionable solutions.
  • Explain technical data concepts in clear, business-friendly terms to audiences across all levels of the organization.
  • Manage and prioritize a queue of reporting requests across multiple departments while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines., You'll primarily work indoors in a comfortable, climate-controlled office setting. Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical solutions implementation?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.

  • Candidates with five or more years of hands-on SQL and Power BI experience in a financial services or data-intensive environment are strongly encouraged to apply regardless of formal education background.
  • Strong experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards, including DAX and Power Query.
  • Proficiency with SQL and enterprise reporting tools such as Microsoft SQL Server, SSMS, and SSRS.

Skills & Strengths

  • Solid understanding of relational databases, data models, and ETL/data integration concepts including SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience applying data quality and governance practices to ensure accurate, reliable reporting.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and clearly communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
