Job description

Kata Solution is assisting a manufacturer to identify a Network Engineer for direct hire. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and robust security across our organization. Your expertise will drive the development of scalable, high-availability networks that support our business operations and growth initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize network performance, troubleshoot issues swiftly, and implement cutting-edge solutions aligned with industry best practices. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional passionate about advancing network technology and security in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • a. Tier-2 escalation support

b. Hands-on technical support related to the overall health and maintenance of the network environments in support of 24/7 operations

c. Install, configure, and support network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and associated infrastructure

d. Daily monitoring of overall network health and status, to include the identification and troubleshooting of network performance and/or capacity issues across multiple sites.

e. Working with other support personnel, as well as external support personnel to isolate network anomalies and identify a corrective action plan prior to impacting operational availability

f. Diagnoses and resolve network outages and performance issues, escalating when necessary.

g. Implement and maintain network security controls to protect systems, data, and communications

h. Maintain documentation for network configurations, diagrams, policies, and procedures

Support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts

Requirements

Do you have experience in Wireless Access Point implementation?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, I. REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (These are the traditional minimum, or required, bona-fide occupational qualifications and other requirements of most people in this job).

a. Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in network engineering, including hands-on implementation and operational support in a LAN/WAN environment.

b. Two plus years in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)

II. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES (These are needed to perform essential functions of the position).

a. Experience including network operational support, hands-on implementation, and configuration of network devices such as servers, switches, routers, firewalls, access points, tablets, handheld scanners, associated software tools, and desktop computers in a LAN/WAN environment.

b. Knowledge of Active Directory on prem and Microsoft Entra

c. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to maintain effective relationships with all levels of professional staff and executives. An ability to work independently and as a team member.

d. Experience with configuration and maintenance of networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)

e. Understanding of network security principles and best practices (NIST, TISAX)

f. Practical knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP and routing protocols)

g. Design or operation experience with encryption, VPN tunnels, TLS certificates

h. Network Diagramming and Documentation

i. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

j. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to maintain effective relationships with all levels of professional staff and executives.

k. Analytical/problem solving skills

l. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
