Salary: Range 340Refer to salary scheduleUnder the direction of the Director of Special Education, provides technical assistance to users regarding the operations, maintenance, and usage of the Special Education Information System. Performs a variety of technical duties involved in the maintenance, preparation, verification, extraction, analysis, reporting, and submission of data files requested by local, state, and/or federal reporting agencies.The Special Education Information Systems Analyst serves as the district's technical resource for the student information system, providing assistance and oversight to users to ensure accurate data processing. The Special Education Information Systems (SEIS) Analyst is a technical position that requires the application of a well-developed knowledge of the student information system.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Maintains the student information system and maintains the integrity and security of the system. Performs data checks, system upgrades, and installations. Assigns user accounts and rights and updates Individual Education Plan (IEP) information.Collaborates with district stakeholders on a variety of functions (e.g., optimization of information systems by Information Technology staff; development of ad-hoc reports; submission of program, state, and federal regular reports). Identifies issues related to the student information systems and software applications for the purpose of resolving user data errors. Inputs data from multiple sources to update student information systems (e.g., student records, assessment reports, attendance records, Medi-Cal, etc.).Prepares backup data files in accordance with established timelines and procedures.Provides specialized technical and troubleshooting support and assistance to school sites and departments in the use of the SEIS.Prepares electronic data submissions for the department's local, state, and/or federal reports. Assures mandated reports are completed in accordance with established timelines and requirements. Performs data queries and provide accurate, relevant, and timely information to district personnel, departments and sites, as well as external stakeholders. Aggregates district data, performs analysis using multiple variables, and creates reports as required. Audits a variety of data, records, and reports for accuracy and completeness. Adds and revises data to meet reporting changes and requirements as necessary.Attends and participates in meetings, conferences, and trainings to stay abreast of new developments in the Special Education Information System.Provides technical assistance and training to district users regarding the applications of the SEIS. Assigned to an alternative site(s) to provide guidance and oversight in the registration process and the updating of student transcripts.Supports mandated reporting requirements through training, data maintenance, and coordination with certificated staff. Coordinates the transfer of electronic files for incoming students, including assignment of caseloads, updating of student data, providing user access to new student families, and ensure all data is accurate for the new school year. Coordinate with local school districts and other agencies to collect, extract, process, and analyze electronic student data for the matriculation process. Provides data to department stakeholders to monitor special education student progress (e.g., Least Restrictive Environment reporting, IEP data, enrollment data, student grades monitoring, California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) data). Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
