Job description

Grade Level (for internal use), * Collaborate with global software development teams to enhance application reliability, performance, and scalability across S&P Global's enterprise data platforms

  • Provide expert production support and incident resolution, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact business operations
  • Develop automation solutions using scripting technologies such as Python, shell scripting, or serverless functions to streamline operational processes and reduce manual tasks
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi on AWS platform following industry best practices
  • Manage database operations and optimization, including both traditional SQL databases and document-oriented database technologies, with exposure to advanced cloud storage solutions

Requirements

  • 5+ years of DevOps and Software Engineering experience with proven track record in cloud infrastructure management
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
  • Proficiency in version control systems such as Git, GitLab, or similar, and CI/CD pipeline technologies including Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
  • Strong database management skills including SQL querying and experience with database technologies (document-oriented databases such as MongoDB, CouchDB, or DynamoDB preferred)
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting solutions such as Grafana, PagerDuty, Datadog, or similar industry-standard tools, * Professional cloud certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or containerd, and orchestration platforms including Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or OpenShift
  • Certifications in document-oriented database technologies such as MongoDB, CouchDB, or AWS DynamoDB, or equivalent NoSQL database expertise
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in driving cross-functional improvement projects and mentoring team members in a collaborative, global environment
