As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll combine your advanced technical expertise with leadership skills to design, develop, and manage ETL solutions within a dynamic and scalable data warehouse environment. You'll play a role in driving the success of our data organisation, ensuring technical excellence, and contributing to impactful data integration solutions. What you'll do:
- Design and develop efficient ETL pipelines and workflows, ensuring the seamless ingestion and transformation of data from multiple sources into the data warehouse.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing performance, and implementing scalable solutions to meet future demands.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration while setting best practices for development.
- Research and implement emerging technologies to enhance the data ecosystem and solve complex challenges.
- Partner with stakeholders, including data scientists, analysts, and product managers, to understand business needs and deliver impactful data-driven solutions.
- Uphold high standards for data quality, governance, and security, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in defining the technical roadmap and aligning the data engineering strategy with broader organizational goals.
Requirements
- You hold a university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with at least 6+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
- Have expertise in ETL processes, advanced SQL, and managing complex data structures, along with experience with cloud platforms (AWS and Snowflake).
- You have a strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, architectures, and the design of large-scale data systems.
- Are experienced with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab), and infrastructure as code, and have successfully implemented data workflows at scale.
- You're a proactive problem-solver with analytical skills, capable of identifying and executing optimization opportunities.
- You excel at leading and mentoring teams, and are comfortable driving technical decisions in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Experience with data governance, GDPR compliance, and security frameworks.
