Job description

  • Translate ideas and requirements into well-crafted high-fidelity visual designs in Figma.
  • Support in the creation of UX audits/strategies, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate design ideas and solutions effectively - working alongside the marketing and development team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, developers, and other designers to ensure a seamless and cohesive user experience.
  • Develop and maintain design systems in Figma, from colour palettes and fonts to components and specifications for developers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of our UX designs.
  • Advocate for user-centred design and inclusive principles and contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence within the team
  • Developing optimisation plans alongside the team to always be innovating. This may also include the introduction of Conversion Rate Optimisation techniques
  • Generating ideas with team members and offering insightful solutions
  • Working on new projects and updating/maintaining existing projects
  • Build supportive relationships with clients and stakeholders, yet challenge ideas
  • Meeting tight deadlines with a cool head
  • Attending meetings and briefings with clients and peers
  • Managing client expectations alongside management, The position is for 4 days per week (30 hours per week), the position will be hybrid, working within the office at least 2 days per week.

Requirements

We're looking for people who are positive, proactive, personable, organised and have can-do attitude. The Junior UX Designer role will be critical in the shaping of user experiences.

This role is ideal for someone with around 2+ years of experience or an excellent design graduate with commercial experience - who wants to deepen their UX expertise while continuing to develop strong UI design skills.

You'll work closely with designers, developers, project managers and stakeholders to create thoughtful, user-centred digital experiences. While the role has a strong UI focus, we're particularly interested in someone who is curious, proactive, and keen to build their UX capability - especially in data-informed design.

This role requires a blend of creativity, problem solving, and technical skills to create user-centred designs that align with business goals. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in UX principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. As with any good design role, the day-to-day will allow plenty of opportunity of problem solving and pro-active solution creation., * Excellent working knowledge of design software such as Figma

  • Highly organised, able to manage your own workload, priorities and deadlines without being micromanaged or chased
  • You have great attention to detail and are thorough when completing tasks
  • Good time management skills, you can give realistic estimates and deadlines and stick to them
  • Visual design skills with an ability to match existing styles, as well as creating new visual directions. Demonstrated with an online portfolio
  • Ability to solve UX problems both creatively and effectively working alongside the team
  • A strong foundation in UI design, with an eye for detail and visual consistency
  • You must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • A desire to learn new skills and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring responsiveness in a timely manner
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to pick things up quickly
  • 2+ years' experience in a design role or a relevant design education background
  • Based in or near Brighton, with the ability to work in a hybrid setup
