Job description
The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) is currently seeking a Systems Analyst to support its Strategy, Planning, and Optimization (SPO) team. In this role, the Systems Analyst will serve as a key department representative on enterprise project teams, partnering with subject matter experts to elicit business requirements, document current/future state business process, and become deeply knowledgeable of assessment-related systems.
Reporting to the Manager, Assessment Operations, the Systems Analyst is responsible for the following:
- Support portfolio projects by eliciting business requirements directly with business partners using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process flows, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis
- Collaborate with business partners and IT agile scrum teams to facilitate requirements Grooming & Refinement, UAT, and feature prioritization
- Work with cross-functional business teams and software vendors to troubleshoot assessment applications, including facilitation of bug and production issue triaging
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers to analyze information and functional needs
- Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to align business and technical solutions, analyzing tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
- Partner with ABIM colleagues to define training plans, user documentation, and facilitation of change management
- On a continual basis, update documentation relating to the various ABIM systems & processes affected by project work.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience with a minimum of five years direct experience, eliciting business and technical requirements within a formal software development methodology. Experience with Microsoft Visio or other process mapping software. Intermediate SQL experience (reading/writing basic queries). Well-versed in root cause analysis, with a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
A background with an Agile software development lifecycle (grooming & refinement, sprint reviews, QA/UAT, etc.) is a plus. Comprehensive knowledge of XML, HTML, and MS Office Suite is preferred.
