Job description
o We are seeking experienced Mainframe Production Support Engineers to join a critical production support team responsible for supporting enterprise applications in a highly specialized mainframe environment. This role focuses on maintaining application stability, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring uninterrupted business operations across Automated Credit, Rewards, and Credit Card Hub platforms. o The team operates in a follow-the-sun support model, partnering closely with offshore resources to provide continuous coverage and seamless handoffs. o This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who thrive in fast-paced production environments and have strong hands-on experience supporting mainframe applications., o Provide L2 and L3 production support for business-critical mainframe applications. o Monitor application performance, system health, and production processing activities. o Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve failed batch jobs and production incidents. o Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues. o Execute and support ad hoc production jobs as required. o Partner with Production Control teams to restart, recover, and validate failed processing. o Respond to business user inquiries and support requests in a timely manner. o Track, document, and manage incidents, problems, and service requests. o Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and operational procedures. o Create and manage follow-up tasks and enhancement requests through ticketing systems. o Participate in daily production support handoffs and coordination with offshore teams. o Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance production stability and operational efficiency.
Requirements
o Strong experience in Mainframe Production Support and Application Support environments. o Hands-on experience with: o JCL (Job Control Language) o COBOL o CICS o DB2 o CA7 o IDCAMS o Mainview o Experience troubleshooting production incidents and batch processing failures. o Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills. o Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical production systems. o Familiarity with incident and change management processes. o Experience using tools such as: o ServiceNow o JIRA o Confluence o Similar ticketing and documentation platforms Strong communication and collaboration skills., o Experience with: File Manager, File Analyzer , EZTRIEV o Financial services, banking, credit card, or rewards platform experience. o Experience working within a global support organization and follow-the-sun operating model. o Ability to work independently in a highly specialized production environment.
