Job description

  • Collaborate with senior engineering leaders, engineers and contract professionals on application requirements and development plans across the entire lifecycle.
  • Provide strategic guidance on technology capabilities, emerging innovations and product roadmap alignment.
  • Design and review architecture diagrams, design concepts, and Kafka-based integrated solutions (Confluent Cloud/Platform).
  • Support execution and integration activities with third-party vendors, including environment setup, configuration, data migration and system validation.
  • Create scalable architectures integrating cloud, on-prem and hybrid environments, and manage database structure for large-scale applications.
  • Document technical designs and conduct code reviews to maintain quality, performance and security standards.
  • Support onboarding of applications to Broadridge's Integrated Platform and drive integration of new cloud-based structures using Confluent Platform components (Kafka brokers, Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, ksqlDB, REST Proxy).
  • Lead deployments and configurations of new software builds on on-prem and cloud environments and automate provisioning, deployment and maintenance tasks with Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools.
  • Perform application integration, API design and system migration, managing multi-cloud or SaaS environments.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering to implement monitoring, alerting and observability frameworks using Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus or similar tools.
  • Proactively troubleshoot Kafka clusters, diagnose performance issues and conduct root-cause analysis for complex distributed environments.
  • Ensure end-to-end automated testing of solutions using enterprise tools for smoke and regression tests.
  • Lead technical design sessions and review architecture/code with multiple teams.
  • Drive technical implementation, code quality and support overall development team productivity.
  • Represent engineering in meetings with Product, Quality and Infrastructure teams to provide technical leadership and remove impediments.
  • Estimate projects and recommend scope/schedule changes based on capacity and unforeseen challenges.
  • Offer guidance on application solutions, data design, testing, troubleshooting, software development tools, governance and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 12+ years operating within an enterprise technology structure, with extensive .NET and AWS Cloud development experience.
  • Strong understanding of modern technologies such as Angular, React, Java, PostgreSQL, Kafka and REST APIs.
  • 10+ years relevant IT experience in financial/fin-tech institutions with leadership experience.
  • 5+ years creating logical and physical data models, defining database schemas (SQL, NoSQL, Graph/Neo4j).
  • Functional skills in application development life cycle/agile, architecture, system design, dev-ops, deployment automation and source control (GitLab, Jenkins, JFrog).
  • Proven track record of supporting technology integration and transformation initiatives.
