Job description
The ServiceNow Developer plays a key role in enhancing and maintaining UVA's enterprise IT service management capabilities. This position is responsible for developing, configuring, and supporting scalable ServiceNow solutions that align with organizational needs and ServiceNow best practices., * Develop, configure, and customize the ServiceNow platform to support business and operational requirements while maintaining efficient upgrade paths and following ServiceNow best practices
- Create and maintain ServiceNow workflows, Flow Designer automations, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes, ACLs, and Service Catalog Request Items
- Develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems using REST APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Server technologies
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform, integration, and application issues while documenting solutions and operational procedures
- Test, validate, and promote ServiceNow enhancements in accordance with SDLC and change management best practices
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, peer review, and retrospectives
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to translate business requirements into sustainable technical solutions
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation supporting critical platform and integration issues approximately one week per month
- Maintain awareness of evolving ServiceNow platform capabilities, architecture standards, security best practices, and development patterns
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to expand platform expertise and technical capabilities, This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Salary Range
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in JavaScript development and hands-on experience administering and developing within the ServiceNow platform. This role requires strong collaboration skills, technical troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to translate business requirements into sustainable technical solutions., Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience., * Minimum of three years of professional experience in JavaScript development or a similar programming language
- Hands-on experience administering and developing within the ServiceNow platform
- Experience designing and developing ServiceNow applications, workflows, scripts, and user interfaces
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues
- Experience managing multiple priorities and workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively depending on project needs
Licensure/Certification:
- Certified ServiceNow Administrator (CSA) certification required
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Experience with ITSM, Service Catalog, Flow Designer, Employee Center (ESC), CMDB, IntegrationHub, Service Portal, Now Experience Framework/UI Builder, and Automated Test Framework (ATF)
- Experience developing and troubleshooting REST API integrations
- Agile development experience
Licensure/Certification:
- Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification preferred
- ITIL Foundation certification preferred, All candidates will be subject to a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, education verification, professional certification verification, and prior employment verification.
