Job description
- Defines and maintains program-level software quality engineering processes, resources, and infrastructure
- Actively participates in program activities, from initial proposal and planning to verification/certification and delivery
- Performs process and product audits to verify software lifecycle activities and products comply with approved software processes, plans, and standards
- Supports program milestone and formal review meetings, occasionally preparing and presenting information
- Participates in configuration management activities
- Plans software quality test activities and completion of test readiness activities
- Ensures integrity of the test process and verifies test results
- Works with regulatory agencies and other functions to develop criteria and procedures for software delivery activities
- Performs final reconciliation of software data products
- Identifies process or product non-compliances; supports root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions and other defect investigation/prevention activities
- Teams with equipment managers of supplier products to monitor and evaluate supplier software development performance
- Acts as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer, highlighting potential best practices on the team, as well as areas for improvement
- Supports the identification and analysis of program/project software quality metrics to improve software quality and manage risk
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software engineering?, The successful candidate for this position will have a broad background in software development practices, tools and processes combined with a passion for advocating First Time Quality strategies. Experience and knowledge of quality standards (e.g. AS9100 / AS9115) is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, self-motivated and able to quickly learn the responsibilities of the position. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, are crucial for success. Candidates should possess resilience and the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback. This position will also require the ability to demonstrate and assertively communicate their boundaries while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment., * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, and/or Chemistry
- 3+ years of experience working in a project where various software development methodologies are being utilized
- 3+ years of experience in a Software Quality role
- 3+ years of experience working independently to develop, modify and document actions to assure problem resolution and/or to implement corrective action and/or preventive action, * 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) auditing
- Software Quality Engineering experience supporting software with AS9115, DO-178, and/or MIL-STD-882E requirements
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) is highly preferred
- Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, Jira, Collaborator, Bitbucket and Beyond Compare
- Software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and automated DevOps processes/tools
- Active U.S. Security Clearance, Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Required, This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Summary pay range for mid-level (Level 3): USD $103,700 - $135,700
