Job description
- Lead UX and UI design work from early concepting through detailed execution
- Synthesize business goals, user needs, and qualitative and quantitative customer insights to inform effective design solutions
- Drive a high standard for visual design and interaction design quality
- Lead and influence work across upper-funnel and activation experiences
- Drive the evolution of the design system and scalable UI patterns
- Push teams beyond incremental improvement through concept work and future-state thinking
- Create key design artifacts, including flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mockups, and vision concepts
- Partner closely with product managers, content strategy, engineers, and other stakeholders to align on priorities and move work forward
- Help define and evangelize standards for quality, consistency, and completeness across UX work
- Apply strong ecommerce and digital best practices, with an understanding of metrics such as conversion, engagement, and customer satisfaction
- Explore and apply AI-enabled approaches that improve ideation, design workflows, and team effectiveness
- Mentor peers through feedback, critique, and craft leadership
- Contribute to a strong design culture through collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and design excellence
Requirements
Do you have experience in Visual communication design?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, As a Principal UX Designer at MilliporeSigma, you will lead high-impact design work across complex digital experiences. This is an individual contributor role for a designer with exceptional UI craft, strong UX judgment, and the ability to influence direction through close partnership with product and engineering.
You will shape customer-facing experiences from concept to execution, raise the bar on visual and interaction quality, and help evolve our design systems and design practice. We're looking for someone with deep product design strength, customer-facing ecommerce experience, and a strong point of view on how AI can improve design workflows, ideation, and quality., * Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, a related field, or 8 years of design experience
- Significant experience applying user-centered design principles across digital products
- Significant experience creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
- Strong visual design capability, including design systems, responsive design, and polished customer-facing digital experiences
- Strong proficiency in Figma and other modern design tools
- Strong knowledge of digital product patterns, interaction design, and current design best practices, * Experience in ecommerce or similarly complex customer-facing digital environments
- Experience designing upper-funnel, onboarding, activation, or acquisition experiences
- Familiarity with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Curiosity about emerging tools and workflows, especially AI, and sound judgment about where they add value
