SOFTWARE DEVELOPER 3 - 3219 LOS ALAMOS, NM

The Technical Lead supports the design, deployment, and ongoing operations of complex high-technology systems. This role provides technical leadership, subject matter expertise, and guidance across project teams while ensuring successful execution of system implementation, integration, and operational activities., The Technical Lead manages and directs daily activities supporting design, construction, startup, and operations/maintenance of complex high-technology systems or projects. The role provides expert technical opinions, performs independent assessments, and delivers recommendations to support engineering, design, and construction efforts.

The position supports deployment, configuration, and maintenance of containerized environments using Red Hat OpenShift, including installation and support of Strategy Customer Managed Cloud (CMC) software and integration within OpenShift-based infrastructure. Responsibilities include system tuning, patching, upgrades, and operational support to ensure performance and reliability.

The role involves troubleshooting deployment, configuration, and runtime issues, while coordinating with technical teams to maintain system stability, compliance, and performance. The individual mentors staff and provides guidance on best practices for container platform operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Additional responsibilities include interfacing with management and customer representatives, developing and enforcing work standards, assigning schedules, reviewing work quality, and communicating organizational goals and policies. The role provides leadership to project teams, coordinates with functional organizations, and supervises personnel to ensure delivery of project objectives.

WORK HOURS

A standard 40-hour work week is expected. Additional schedule requirements may be provided by the client., This position requires regular interaction with management personnel, customer representatives, and cross-functional teams. The role includes leadership responsibilities, coordination with functional organizations, and oversight of project execution.

Do you have experience in Leadership?, Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Engineering, Science, or Business Management, 9 years of directly applicable experience in a specialized technical field Recognized expertise in containerized platforms and high-technology systems Experience managing and supporting design, construction, startup, or operations/maintenance activities Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift deployment, administration, and operations Experience installing and supporting Strategy Customer Managed Cloud (CMC) software Strong understanding of Kubernetes, containerization, and platform operations Experience with Linux system administration Ability to work independently in a remote environment Strong communication and mentoring skills

PREFERRED / DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience using OpenShift and Strategy CMC in a production environment Experience in DOE, federal, or regulated environments Familiarity with security, compliance, and configuration management requirements Current or prior security clearance
