Senior Java Developer (Order Management Systems)

The Comms, Media & Technology (CM&T) group is seeking a Level 9 Senior Java Developer to join a mission-critical, fast-paced project team. The purpose of this role is to build, scale, and optimize core backend components for an enterprise Order Management System (OMS). This is a high-impact initiative with a steep learning curve requiring immediate technical autonomy. DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain backend applications and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and related cloud-native architectures. Support critical OMS functionalities including order orchestration, fulfillment, provisioning, returns, and total order lifecycle management. Design, build, and support high-throughput APIs and backend integrations with billing, payment, inventory, customer, and third-party enterprise systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, QA, operations, and business stakeholders to support agile delivery cycles. Utilize GenAI tools and automation accelerators to actively improve development efficiency, code quality, testing, documentation, and defect analysis. Follow rigorous development best practices including peer code reviews, CI/CD automated pipeline execution, and secure coding standards., Architect, build, and maintain enterprise-grade microservices and backend applications utilizing Java and Spring Boot frameworks. Design and execute workflows supporting critical OMS processes including order orchestration, provisioning, returns, and full order lifecycle tracking. Develop robust, secure API integrations linking core platforms with backend billing, payment processing, inventory control, and consumer registries. Embrace cutting-edge development tools, utilizing GenAI assistants and automation accelerators to optimize test automation, code execution, and peer documentation.

Java & Spring Boot: 8+ years of deep engineering experience (P5 - Master level) Order Management Systems (OMS): 2+ years of direct industry experience (Order orchestration, fulfillment, lifecycle) API & Backend Integration: 5+ years (Connecting enterprise billing, inventory, and payments systems) ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS GitHub CoPilot (or equivalent GenAI development accelerators) CI/CD pipeline automation tools Secure coding standards enforcement Microservices architectural design patterns IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE The ideal candidate is a Master-level backend engineer who thrives under tight timelines and brings deep domain expertise in telecom or media Order Management Systems.
