Job description
- Perform database patching and vulnerability remediation in alignment with IAVA requirements, including compliance reporting across enterprise database systems.
- Maintain and administer Microsoft SQL Server environments (various versions) across on-premises and cloud-based infrastructures.
- Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational support for database systems, including performance tuning, query optimization, and issue resolution.
- Execute database patching, upgrades, backups, restores, and routine maintenance to ensure data integrity, availability, and system reliability.
- Implement and manage database security, including user access controls, roles, permissions, and encryption standards.
- Utilize T-SQL and PowerShell scripting for automation of database administration, monitoring, and reporting tasks.
- Leverage AWS services, including RDS, EC2, Lambda, and CloudFormation, to deploy, manage, and optimize cloud-hosted database solutions.
- Support infrastructure as code initiatives using Ansible and Terraform for database provisioning, configuration management, and automation.
- Develop and maintain database automation scripts and monitoring tools to streamline operations and improve performance and uptime.
Requirements
We are seeking a Senior SQL Database Administer to augment an existing team providing Life Cycle Sustainment (LCS) activities for commercial and custom-developed education, learning, and training applications. The role requires a self-motivated individual that is comfortable working in a team environment. This position will require working on a fast-paced team and a willingness to take on challenges., * Experience with PowerShell scripting language

- Ability to clearly communicate ambiguous or highly complex concepts to all audiences
