Job description

This role focuses on owning and managing multiple automatic transmission software features from concept through release. You will lead changes and requirements, coordinate validation with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and calibration teams, and serve as the single point of contact for issue triage and resolution. You will also plan, execute, and release software updates in alignment with established software development and software quality processes, delivering complete documentation such as test reports, design verification methods (DVMs), and calibration guides.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage multiple automatic transmission software components and features throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Gather, refine, and manage software requirements for transmission control features, ensuring clarity, traceability, and alignment with system needs.
  • Coordinate validation activities with HIL and calibration teams to ensure robust verification of transmission control software.
  • Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for issue triage and resolution related to assigned transmission software components.
  • Plan, implement, and release software updates following defined software development and software quality processes.
  • Prepare and maintain all required software deliverables, including test reports, DVMs, calibration guides, and other supporting documentation.
  • Apply Agile software development principles and participate in Agile ceremonies to plan, track, and deliver work.
  • Use software testing tools to generate and evaluate software quality metrics such as decision coverage, MC/DC, and line coverage.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain C code and Simulink models for automatic transmission control functions, including design, simulation, and integration.
  • Use MATLAB and MATLAB modeling for algorithm development, analysis, and support of autocoding workflows for vehicle software.
  • Work with software lifecycle management tools (such as IBM ClearCase or GitHub) to manage versions, branches, and releases of software artifacts.
  • Collaborate with calibration engineers and use calibration tools to support tuning and validation of transmission control features.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of software development, testing, and release processes within the transmission controls team.
  • Support planned growth and scaling of the transmission controls team by sharing knowledge and best practices., The role offers a hybrid work schedule that combines on-site collaboration with work-from-home flexibility. You will work closely with a transmission controls team that is in a planned growth phase, providing opportunities to contribute to and influence the evolution of processes and practices. The technical environment includes tools and technologies such as MATLAB, Simulink, C, software testing tools for coverage metrics, and lifecycle management platforms like IBM ClearCase or GitHub, as well as calibration tools such as ATI. The position involves regular interaction with HIL, calibration, and validation teams in a professional engineering setting., Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): We may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support parts of our hiring process, including sourcing, screening, and evaluating candidates. AI helps assess applications and qualifications, but final decisions are made by our hiring team. By applying, you acknowledge and agree that your application may be reviewed using AI tools.
