Job description
- Ensures mission-critical federal applications are prepared to handle increased demand, peak usage periods, and high-volume operational workloads.
- Responsible for forecasting capacity needs, conducting performance analysis, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing strategies that improve application scalability, stability, and responsiveness.
- Works closely with cloud, infrastructure, network, and application teams to ensure systems remain resilient, available, and performant during surge scenarios.
- Reviews operational requirements with project teams, management and client services groups for deployment and ongoing support.
- Develops documentation for best practices as it relates to server infrastructure and cloud computing operational experience.
- Assist with identifying and planning of potential new cloud services, features, and capabilities., Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package for employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years in relevant field
Other Job Specific Skills
- Experience conducting load, stress, and performance testing for enterprise applications.
- Ability to analyze system performance, traffic patterns, and resource utilization across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Understanding of scaling approaches including autoscaling, caching, queuing, and connection management.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, logging systems, and performance dashboards.
- Understanding of federal operational requirements such as uptime expectations, continuity planning, and controlled change windows., * Experience supporting scalability efforts for public-facing or high-traffic federal systems.
- Knowledge of cloud-native scaling capabilities (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud equivalents).
- Background in optimizing application architectures for high availability and low latency.
