Job description

The DevOps Engineer will help create and maintain pipelines that help automate the parts of software development and delivery related to build, test, deployment facilitating one or more agile development teams. The DevOps team will also establish Quality checks, and Audit Controls in pipelines that meet or exceed the Enterprise Standards. The DevOps team will work with the Scrum Team and contribute in a wide variety of areas including security, code quality, configuration management, continuous integration, and continuous deployment. Provisioning and de-provisioning the environments. Debugging meaningful technical issues inside a very deep and complex technical stack involving virtualization, containers, microservices, etc. Possesses a strong understanding of the organization's products and services. Establishes Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines for new applications to support an agile delivery environment. Establishes Cloudbees Jenkins pipelines that meet Enterprise Quality Standards. Supports the organization in maturing the software development and delivery into a fully automated and service oriented. Encodes, tests, debugs, and documents associated scripts/programs. Resolves escalated technical matters to meet customer service level agreements. Performs root cause analysis/fixes or corrective action of defects for more complex issues. Actively monitors the stacks, ensuring automated builds and deployments are functioning successfully. Follows documented Software Development Life-Cycle standards. Participates or leads special projects and training, as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent* in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field plus 6 years of relevant experience in dev ops engineering. As an equivalent alternative, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field plus 4 years of relevant experience in dev ops engineering. The position requires experience with: At least four years of experience in any programming languages: Programming/Scripting: Java, UNIX Shell scripting, Groovy scripting, CLI Tools. Must have at least three years of experience using DevOps tools like Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, Python, YAML, Shell Scripting. Good understanding of Linux OS configuration, Networking and Firewall concepts. Linux/Unix/Windows operating systems. Experience in configure/maintain testing environments, software release management and support activities. Experience working in Agile team-oriented environment. Experience in creating, deploying and running Docker containers. Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, HELM Charts, security contexts, autoscaling. Good understanding in Terraform/Ansible/Chef, Kubernetes, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF). Good understanding of cloud networking architecture, cloud operations, security, automation and orchestration. Using Oracle Cloud, Azure, AWS, google. CI/CD engineering: CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Workflow Automation, Security/compliance, Release strategies. Observability and reliability: Logging, monitoring, Alerts, Performance and capacity planning. Infrastructure As a Code. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good understanding of and willingness to learn and adopt professional and industry standards. Must be customer service driven and be a good team player. *Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education. This position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN and candidates must live within a 50-mile radius.
