Job description

Hybrid 3 Days in 2 Days remote * Takeaway: This role is a heavy automation engineering position focused on building, scaling, and securing enterprisegrade vaulting and secrets platforms. The team needs engineers who can automate everything, integrate with complex ecosystems, and harden both Linux and Windows environments. Role Overview The Senior Automation Engineer* is responsible for designing, automating, and operating largescale secrets management platforms-primarily HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, or similar vaulting technologies. You'll build pipelines, automate provisioning, enforce security controls, and ensure secrets are delivered reliably to thousands of workloads across hybrid or multicloud environments. This team is deeply technical, highly automated, and owns the full lifecycle of secrets: onboarding, rotation, governance, and secure delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Secrets Platform Automation - Build endtoend automation for Vault/CyberArk provisioning, onboarding, and lifecycle management using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Go.
  • Infrastructure as Code - Implement and maintain IaC modules (Terraform preferred) for Vault clusters, PKI engines, namespaces, policies, and integrations.
  • Platform Operations - Operate and support highly available Vault or CyberArk environments across Linux or Windows platforms.
  • Secrets Governance - Enforce RBAC, access policies, credential rotation, and compliance controls.
  • CI/CD Integration - Integrate secrets delivery into pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Monitoring & Observability - Build dashboards, alerts, and automated remediation for secrets platforms.
  • Security Hardening - Harden OS, network, and platform configurations for enterprise security requirements.
  • CrossPlatform Engineering - Automate and support Linux or Windows hosts depending on specialization.
  • Incident Response - Troubleshoot outages, performance issues, and secrets delivery failures.

Requirements

  • *Strong automation *background using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Go.

  • Deep experience with Linux or Windows systems engineering.

  • Handson experience with HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, or similar secrets platforms.

  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other IaC/automation frameworks.

  • Understanding of PKI, certificates, tokens, and authentication flows.

  • Familiarity with Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, or OIDC.

  • Experience supporting highavailability and disaster recovery architectures.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, network, and application layers. Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Kubernetes secrets integration.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).

  • Experience with SIEM, logging, and security monitoring.

  • Experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering.

  • Experience automating credential rotation and nonhuman identity workflows. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Chandler, AZ.
