- Develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, SQL, and DB2.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
- Design and implement efficient database structures and queries to support business processes.
- Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and implement timely fixes and enhancements.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Document technical specifications and maintain system documentation.

Requirements
We are seeking a skilled and motivated COBOL Programmer to join our technology team supporting the Logistics, Supply Chain & Innovation area. This role is ideal for someone with strong mainframe development experience who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering reliable, scalable solutions., To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in software development, including:
- Requirements analysis
- Relational database design
- Production support and troubleshooting
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with mainframe technologies:
- COBOL
- CICS
- JCL
- SQL & DB2
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java or other modern programming languages is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is advantageous., * Ability to monitor computer screens for long periods of time
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule as established by the division (4 days on-site, 1 day remote)
Benefits & conditions
The salary range for this position is $81,224 to $130,208.00. Placement in the range depends on several factors, including experience, skills, education, geography, and budget considerations.
