Job description

The Spiff Technical Architect is a trusted thought leader, combining technical and functional expertise to deliver exceptional results for customers and partners within the Salesforce Spiff ecosystem. This individual plays a pivotal role in shaping and leading Salesforce Spiff projects, driving successful implementations, and ensuring that customers realize their goals.

The Spiff Technical Architect successfully designs and manages the delivery of complex Salesforce Spiff solutions for our customers. These technologies include- but are not necessarily limited to Salesforce.com products and APIs, Data360 and data management technologies, and iPaaS, integration, and ETL technologies. You are both a big picture thinker and in-depth problem solver, your knowledge and skills are both broad and deep. You take pride in designing systems that stand up to high volumes and won't fail at critical points. You have a good mix of technical and enterprise skills when it comes to architecting a solution. The solutions you design are built for the long-term and will scale with the customer's growth plans seamlessly. You have proven experience integrating systems via APIs as well as a strong development background.

The Spiff Technical Architect also collaborates across the organization to develop client-specific proposals, staffing plans, and statements of work (SOWs). They champion best practices, develop shared assets, and align on global initiatives that propel the Salesforce Spiff community forward. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to define requirements, deliverables, and set and manage expectations
  • Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platform
  • Lead technical design sessions; architect and document technical solutions aligned with client business objectives; identify gaps between client's current and desired end states
  • Provide oversight and governance of Salesforce Spiff projects
  • Follow and help define integration standards. Lead code reviews during projects to ensure quality and appropriate integration patterns are followed
  • Manage the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements of a Salesforce Spiff implementation
  • Maintain a target billable utilization aligned to the role
  • Ability to understand a project and deep dive to debug issues
  • From time-to-time, the TA may be expected to partake in other pre-sales activities such as discovery and technical deep-dive sessions, Proof-Of-Concept (POC) development with prospects

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of technical design & technical delivery of Software-As-A-Service platforms
  • Hands-on technical consulting and solution implementation experience for a major software domain (eg CRM, ERP, HR) as well as coding experience in Object Oriented languages
  • Deep knowledge in APIs, SQL/SOQL, Data Distribution, Data Modelling, and Data integration concepts
  • Ideally 5+ years in data architecture or consulting, with solution design and project delivery experience
  • Experienced with iPaaS automation platforms such as Workato, Mulesoft, Informatica or Zapier
  • Understanding of Salesforce Products
  • Experience in executing data strategies, landscape architecture assessments and technical proof-of-concepts
  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies including requirements, design, implementation, testing and maintenance
  • Executive level oral and written communication skills including technical documentation. The ability to conceptualise and communicate complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to scope, define and manage work packages. Support pre-sale qualification with solutions validation
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (eg extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
  • Available to travel regionally depending on customer needs

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Experience in Salesforce Spiff, Xactly, SAP/CallidusCloud, Varicent or any enterprise-Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) tool
  • Proven ability to gather and analyse ICM and Revenue Recognition requirements, designing flexible, scalable solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to work independently as a self-starter
  • Knowledge of languages like Python or JavaScript for handling complex data transformations
