Job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves working with established technologies to develop and enhance our telemedicine platform. You will build scalable, high-performance applications and contribute to our mission of advancing health optimization. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable APIs that meet the needs of our applications and clients.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Ensure API security, implementing authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and standards.
  • Optimize API performance, including latency, throughput, and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API functionality, performance, and integration.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and technical leadership in API development.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in API development, continuously improving our API architecture and practices.

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Extensive experience with RESTful API design and implementation, including best practices, security, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with API documentation tools such as Swagger, Postman, or OpenAPI.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and experience building scalable, distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of version control systems such as Git, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth, JWT, and API keys.
  • Proficiency in MongoDB, including database design, optimization, and management.
  • Experience building scalable server-side applications in Node.js.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.

Qualifications - Preferred

  • Knowledge of API gateway technologies such as AWS API Gateway.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools related to API deployment and monitoring.
  • Understanding of caching strategies and technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
  • Experience building APIs that comply with industry standards and regulations, especially in healthcare.
  • Experience with Vue.js and React for Front End development.
  • Experience with GraphQL or gRPC in addition to REST APIs.
