VTG is looking for an Ohio based K-12 IT Sales Representative who will play a critical role in bridging the digital divide for Ohio's students, providing school districts and educational institutions critical technology services using the E-Rate funding vehicle. In this role, your mission is to guide Superintendents and IT Directors through the complexities of the E-Rate cycle to ensure their schools are equipped with modern, secure, and reliable technology. Additionally, you will focus on selling our full suite of MSP products and service offerings, specifically with networking, infrastructure, and managed security. Day-To-Day Duties and Responsibilities: Lead Generation & Prospecting: Activity-Driven Growth: Maintain a consistent, high-volume cadence of outbound activity. We have clear expectations for daily/weekly calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach to ensure a steady flow of new prospects. Meeting Generation: Successfully convert cold outreach into qualified discovery meetings and presentations. Opportunity Creation: Consistently identify and qualify new sales opportunities to meet monthly and quarterly pipeline requirements. Leverage industry events, conferences, and online platforms to generate leads. Sales & Business Development: Conduct needs assessments and develops tailored proposals to address client requirements. Deliver compelling presentations to prospective clients, showcasing VTG's value proposition. Negotiate and close deals, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements. Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new market opportunities. Additional Sales Activities: Monitor and Analyze Form 470 Postings: Proactively track USAC filings to identify qualified sales opportunities, evaluate RFPs, and craft competitive, technically sound bids that strictly adhere to E-Rate Lowest Corresponding Price (LCP) rules. Ensure Form 486 Readiness: Verify that services are successfully delivered and operational, confirming clients are fully prepared to file their Form 486 to certify CIPA compliance and the start of service. Oversee E-Rate Invoicing (Form 472/474): Manage the funding close-out process by either executing direct Service Provider Invoicing (SPI / Form 474) or providing clients with the necessary documentation for Billed Entity Applicant Reimbursement (BEAR / Form 472). Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). Experience: 3+ years of B2B sales experience, specifically selling into the SLED (State, Local, and Education) market. Territory Expertise: Must be based in or have a proven track record of selling within the Ohio K-12 school district ecosystem. Technical Literacy: A high-level understanding of networking infrastructure (switches, routers, access points) and basic Cybersecurity principles. High-Activity Comfort: Proven ability to work and thrive in an environment with defined activity expectations (calls, emails, and meetings). Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Proficient in CRM software for tracking sales activities (e.g., Salesforce).
